Improved connectedness, awareness and quality of communication will reduce unnecessary contact and enable community-driven efficiency initiatives.
Much of the path outlined in this strategy is intended to lead Local Authorities towards better forms of communication, collaboration, relevance and visibility. This provides at least two opportunities for gaining efficiency: firstly because improved knowledge, communication and personalisation should result in more efficient contact between council and citizen; and secondly because citizens are empowered and encouraged to work with the Authority and each other to solve old problems in new ways.
